The gutsy deb file worked fine for me on hardy.

It always takes about two hours to set up a new linux box, and I just don’t have time right now. So I wouldn’t hold my breath.
i just got someone on irc which told me that 1.5.2 doesnt work on hardy.
I have recently installed 1.5.1 or 1.5.0 on a newly setup hardy kubuntu machine which worked fine. but they might have updated glibc in the recent update of ubuntu (and thus made it incompatible).
I have not tested it myself. but someone should check the 1.5.2 release on hardy…
Just installed 1.5.2 on Hardy and ran a few of the samples and my own code. Seems to be fine. I will keep using it.
