What 3D modeling programs are supported and recommended?

Hi,

  1. What 3D modeling programs and what version supported by Panda3D exporter? (like Panda3D exporter support Maya 2010, 3DS Max 2009, etc)
  2. Which 3D modeling program is recommended for Panda3D exporter of above candicates?

Blender 2.49b, which is free.

Panda supports many modeling packages, as described in the manual beginning here. Some of the converters are better supported than others. The best supported are probably Maya (currently through 2009, I believe) and Blender.
