Hi everyone,
Just wanted to introduce myself - my username is R1X and I’m new to the Panda3D community.
I came across Panda3D last week when trying to decide what engine to use to continue developing a Python game idea into 3D. I’ve been exploring it for about a week now.
I really want to say a big thank you to the developers for creating and maintaining this fantastic engine, and also a huge thanks to all the people contributing to the community, both those just starting out and the pro-level users. Browsing the documentation and forums has already been a massive help!
It’s definitely been a learning experience! After a week of trial and error (including plenty of time spent falling through worlds while getting physics set up!{“ray-trace” gravity ?maybe? or at least wind for scent trails in Werewolf [scent_particle]}), I’ve managed to piece together a very basic FPS prototype. It’s definitely still a ‘mockery’ in many ways, but it’s starting to take shape.
I’ve uploaded the current state of the script to GitHub here: GitHub - R1Xhard-35789/Zeta
Anyway, looking forward to learning much more from all of you and getting more involved with Panda3D!
Cheers
R1X
P.S. Please excuse the excessive ! usage, I will have a stern word with the AI drafting and secretary agent.
