Looks like poor BuildBot hasn’t succeeded since Jan 09. #panda3d suggested a forum post might be advisable just to make sure this was brought to the attention of everyone who needs to know.
Building from a checkout on that date worked for me, and appears to currently be the only way to install Panda3d in Ubuntu 12.10.
