Released at Xenium 2025, our production “Regis III” took 3rd place in the PC Demo Compo.
Inspired by Stanisław Lem’s The Invincible, this real-time audiovisual demo explores the idea of particle intelligence – chaotic, swarming, and alien. Its tagline says it all:
“Not every intelligence must wear a human face.”
Like our previous works, everything runs live in Python with Panda3D – featuring custom GLSL shaders, procedural particle systems, and tight sync with Dan’s soundtrack. No pre-rendered video – it’s all code in motion.
I can warmly recommend the book - it’s a great read and really goes down smoothly.
I read Lem’s original in Polish, but I found online that The Invincible has been translated into over 30 languages - so chances are you’ll find your own there, or at least English (for example German, French, Spanish, Russian, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Hungarian, and many more).
What I liked most is how it mixes solid hard sci-fi with deeper philosophical questions about humanity and the nature of intelligence. Definitely worth checking out!
