Real Planetarium using the stellar data of the Hipparcos satellite

Thank you to all the developers and forams.
I have created a real planetarium application with Panda3D. The stars are placed in real positions using the stellar data of the Hipparcos satellite. Constellations are represented by yellow lines and 3D texts. You can move the viewpoint with the arrow keys and change the time with the “J” and “K” keys.

The main feature of this application is the viewpoint that can be observed from outside the planetarium’s celestial sphere. This external viewpoint is used to debug the application, but it also provides hints for understanding the changes of day and night and the operation of the stars.

How to make this application is published in Nikkei Software, a famous Japanese programming magazine. I hope this will increase the number of Panda3D users in Japan.
