packp3d trying download p3d_plugin.dll

Runtime is installed. Something else is needed?
I myself have downloaded this file. Where to place it?

Already pack3d.p3d contains coreapi?
If so, how to use it?
Very bad if after installing the Runtime, still Panda3D needs other components

packp3d downloaded, then what was needed. The installation was successful. But here’s what’s next

I have the same problem.

What did you do to make it work?

Download and install was successful on the second laptop only. But: still dont work there, and absolutely dont work on the first.
I am will uploading the entire runtime.panda3d.org/ site to disk and then i will try to install the local copy on both laptops.
It would be sad to give up a Panda3D

I suppose this is a temporary problem and will be fixed eventually. Anyway, I’ve posted a question about this: answers.launchpad.net/panda3d/+question/156536

Hopefully

I think it has something to do with the fact that your username contains non-ASCII characters, and Panda3D has trouble with that.

I think you’re right. This is a bit unfortunate. We need to rework the low-level operations to use Unicode filenames if available. Unfortunately, this risks creating incompatibilities with older versions of Windows that did not provide Unicode filenames. Some caution is required here.
