Is it possible to convert files saved with Maya Personal Learning Edition 7 to Egg?

Hello,

I don’t think its possible.

  1. That would allow you to use a free version of Maya for something other than learning how to use Maya.

  2. The file that Maya PLE stores scenes in (.mp) is not what the exporter looks for when converting (.ma or .mb). In other words, its not compatible with maya2egg

I know that it’s possible to use the Maya PLE version (an older version) with the UnrealEngine but that is because they’ve made arrangements with Alias and have an exporter specifcally for that purpose. I’m sure money changed hands to accomplish this.
