Movie texture formats : extension restriction

v1.3.2 : the file’s extension restricts movie loading. The only accepted file extensions are AVI, MOV, MPG, but the library CAN recognize the actual video formats, and also supports WMV as well. For any other supported formats, one has to rename the file’s extension into AVI, MOV, or MPG to get it loaded.
So what’s the importance of the file extension anyway ?

The file extension differentiates it from a regular texture. Once the filename is determined to be a movie file by examining its extension, it goes through a completely different code path to load it.

I guess we just need to add wmv to the list of movie extensions. Any others that should be on the list?

of course ASF, and 3GP, 3G2.
