Melodice by Damage (1st place at Revision 2025 – PC Demo Competition)

Released at Revision 2025, our latest production “Melodice” took 1st place in the PC Demo Compo – the main competition at the world’s biggest demoparty.

This is a real-time audiovisual demo made with Python and Panda3D, using custom GLSL shaders, runtime-generated geometry, and tight sync with a hand-composed soundtrack. No pre-rendered video – everything runs live from code.

While previous Damage demos leaned more into storytelling or atmospheric builds, Melodice is a fast, rhythmic, and highly dynamic experience. It’s short (about 3.5 minutes), loud, and visually intense – meant to grab attention and not let go.

Built with Panda3D, developed on macOS, tested on Windows. It should also run fine on Linux, though not as thoroughly tested.

Whaoo: congrats for this amazing result (for both your ranking and the quality of the demo)!

I am still very impressed by what you achieved to do with our P3D engine! Keep going!

@rdb: would you be open to add these videos to the website as P3D showcases?

Congratulations on first place, and very well done!
