I’m not familiar with the use of FBX files–perhaps someone else can help you there–but simple GUI construction is covered in my “Beginner’s Tutorial”–perhaps that might be of help to you.
To be specific, Depending on what sort of GUI you have in mind you might look at one or both of Lesson 12 and Lesson 15.
