Hey folks,
I’m using an ATI Radeon 9200 128 MB video card, and Panda says that shaders aren’t supported on the video card.
I think that I have the most recent drivers. Has anyone else been able to get a Radeon 9200 to work with Shaders, or should I start looking for a new video card?
Thanks!
Just so you know, I’m not ignoring your post — I just don’t know anything about the radeon 9200. I was hoping somebody would know something?
I know the radeon 9600 supports shaders. But of course, that doesn’t help much.
Well, its supposed to work with Shaders Version 1.0 or 1.1 - dunno in detail. However, the Radeon 9200 is basically a redesigned Radeon 7500/8500 in the core. No new features. So even if basic shaders are supported, I guess its the same problem we have with the Geforce 4 MX (and such) series.
I wonder what Shader level (1.1? 2.0?) is needed by Panda3D?
When its running on a Radeon9600, it looks like Shaders 2.0. But thats just a hint. Who knows details?

Oh well.
I’m kind of waiting for Windows Vista to come out before I buy a new system (or upgrade my existing one).
I’ll do a little more searching on the web and see what I can find.
I’ll let you guys know if I find anything.
