Assimp model import doesn't show textures

I used the assimp loader to load an FBX model. When I do so, it is completely untextured. I am able to add the textures manually (using the loader to load textures, then setting them to the appropriate node on the model), but I was wondering whether this is expected behavior using the assimp loader?

I’m reasonably confident that the texture paths are correct in the FBX model - when I open the same model in Blender, it indicates the physical path on my system where the textures are stored.
