Stencil shadows and light maps

  1. Does Panda3D support stencil shadows?

  2. What about lightmaps? Even though you can’t import Quake levels, can geometry have multiple sets of UV coordinates and can textures be blended?

Ex: a tiled brick texture multiplied with an untiled lightmap.

  1. Shadows implemented via a stencil buffer are not supported by Panda at this time, although you can also achieve real-time shadows using a multipass rendering algorithm. You have to do the setup work yourself, though; there’s not an automatic “turn on shadows” feature. See direct/src/showbase/ for a crude example.

  2. Yes, the current version of Panda supports full multitexturing. See panda/src/doc/howto.use_multitexture.txt.
