Setting up 3d max 2008

I’m fairly new to the whole Panda3D scene. I’m trying to get my 3d Max setup for exporting to panda. The problem is I followed the guide on the site but the exported file is a .egg file, the ones shown in the tutorial is a .egg.pz

Is there a difference to the file types or do they act in the same manner.

The .pz extension represents the fact that the file has been pzipped. To unzip it, use the punzip binary found in the /bin folder of Panda 3D.
