ppremake. - "more detail in another document"

Hi All,

Maybe I am just tired or something (working two jobs you know) but I am
having trouble finding the ppremake syntax description.

In INSTALL-PP, in the section entitled “HOW TO CONFIGURE PANDA FOR YOUR
ENVIROMENT”, in the fourth paragraph, it says on the second line
"The full syntax of ppremake input scripts is described in more detail in
another document, but the most common thing … " and goes on to discuss
#define and #defer. The third line tells you to look in dtool/config for more
examples.

Now ‘/dtools/Config.pp’ was and is quite a bit of help. I just wonder if my
bleary eyes are overlooking a more detailed document

Thanks a lot!

Robert

Just out of curiosity — have you tried using the other build system, makepanda? It might be easier.

Hi Josh,

Tried makepanda first after reading docs sunday am. Churned for three hours
nothing worked on linux slack 10.1. Didn’t see much hope in the docs so switched
to ppremake.

I know its depricated, but after 4 tries it worked, need to add fftw and maybe
vrpn, hoping for docs explaing ppremake so as to add MAKEOPTS and GCCOPTS
to the makefiles and hopefully to be able to add own VR gear and Sound routines.

Thanks for asking,

Robert

I’m not very familiar with ppremake myself, but there are some documents in panda/src/doc that might be relevant.

Hi,

Thanks Josh, didn’t even notice the panda/src/doc’s. Looks like I got
some reading to do!

Thanks again,

Robert
