After struggling with point lights for a day, it’s my opinion that attenuation needs to be covered in the manual.
no need to hesitate. just write it 
the manually actually is a wiki so you can add things you found missing.
to register a wiki account and edit there is a tiny dot you have to click on.
hard to find if you dont know its there.
