Panda would not install

I download Panda, which took a long time on dial up. Any way, once I got it I tried to install and go this error:

NSIS Error

The installer you are trying t ouse is corrupted or incomplete.
This could be the result of a damaged disk, a failed download or a virus.

You may want to contact the author of this installer to obtain a new coppy.

It may be possible to skip this check using the /NCRS command line switch.
(NOT RECOMMENDED)

So being the hack-it-yourself kind of guy, I poped open command prompt and did C:/install.exe /NCRS and Panda came right up. It went 99% though the install and then locked up. I found out it had installed everything except the start menu stuff, which was no big deal to me.

Then, after two hours of pure hacking, I got it to work. And I love it!

Just posting incase any one else has the same problem I did.

I think your download got corrupted in progress. I never head or had such an issue.

I assume you called install.exe with “/NCRC” and not “/NCRS”.

This argument (“no CRC”) disables checksum verification. This means your download has a checksum issue. This might be (1) because of the server offers a damaged file, which is unlikely since nobody else would be able to install Panda3D on windows, or (2) the file got damaged during the download, which is - given you used dialup - very likely.

Solutions:
(1) Find someone with a better connection.
(2) Try to download again and again until you get a not-dmaged file.
