Panda 1.7.0 Shadow samples not working on Ubuntu

I tried all the Shadows samples that come with Panda 1.7.0.

But, the NoShader version just turns everything black, with no lighting at all;
the Basic version works, save for shadow casting ( :laughing: );
the Advanced version shows shadows for a split second, and then operates the same as the Basic version.

Anyone know what’s going on? I have Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid) with an Intel GM45 GPU.

Any improvements with the latest buildbot version?

I don’t know, I’ve never tried a buildbot version.

I just posted a patch for an instance of this in a different thread:
[url]shadow mapping ...'again' ( 1.6 problem)]

I tested on Windows only, but was experiencing the exact same symptoms and so am fairly confident my patch will fix it on Ubuntu as well.

Update: This still doesn’t work for me in Panda 1.7.2 (same specs as last time). Anyone have any suggestions?
