.mp4 to avi playable with panda3d

what software do i use to convert a .mp4 to a .avi that i can play with panda3d? i have tried a few, but the .avi files did not work.

Panda uses ffmpeg to load videos. I’d be surprised if ffmpeg can’t load .mp4 files directly.
