Maya 2 egg doesn’t seem to be storing tangent and binormals properly… unless I’m using it incorrectly…

maya2egg7 -tbnall tunnel.mb tunnel.egg

Initializing Maya.
Computing tangent and binormal for all UV sets.
Writing tunnel.egg

That’s my command and output. Unfortunately, when looking at the egg, I do not see a and tag

Hm, you’re right. I’ll fix it.

In the meantime, you can use egg-trans to add the tangent and binormal after the egg file has been converted, e.g.:

maya2egg7 tunnel.mb t.egg
egg-trans -tbnall t.egg -o tunnel.egg

I was wondering were I could download the MEL script from?

thanks, MEZ

There’s no mel script mentioned in this thread. The original poster was referring to using the command-line utility maya2egg to convert a model to egg.

There is, however, a mel script which invokes maya2egg for you, so you don’t have to go to the command line; and I’m pretty sure it’s provided as part of the Panda3D download.
