what map creator software that is best for panda3d
There is a Sceneeditor somewhere in sources, but its not maintained anymore, but you could look at it . It was designed to create toontown so it would take much work I suppose to ready it for other projects ? I suggest if you want something in that regard waiting for editor thats in the works.
If you have used or are considering using ‘blender’ ( blender.org/ ) , then ‘chicken’ plugin for blender would be your best best as it allows you to export models , textures , some animations, etc.etc. so thats something you could def. use as a scene editor. You could make your ground/terrain, add objects easily, textures where you wanted, animations etc, and export with ‘chicken’ plugin which can be found here:
I imagine in the future package of panda3d it will be included, but its there for now as well as documentation for using it.
If you prefer maya or 3dmax , there are also exporters for those that could be used as editors as well, so its up to you what to use based on what you have and prefer

afaik a scene editor is currently under active development and already in the cvs version of panda. with some luck it will be included in 1.7.0 which will be released in near future
I wouldn’t rely on 1.7.0, as the new level editor is still very alpha. Maybe 1.8.0 or so.
