Do you need maya2egg for Maya 7 or older?

Hey, linux people: is anyone using Maya 7 or older? maya2egg now works for Maya 8.5 and newer on linux, but not older versions. Does anyone need it for older versions?

I don’t think linux crowd like proprietary software that much. They much rather use blender or windows.

It should work with Maya 7. What are the bugs?

it was some kind of tangled dependency thing with versions of libstdc++, pystub, something or other … I could get it to build for Maya 8.5 and later, but not 7.
