Indirect Lighting Rapid Prototyping

Hi, I am a student in Comp Sci and would like to experiment with rapid development of interactive “Indirect Lighting” techniques…similar to this
described in:

What I would like to know is this possible to prototype in Panda3D? That is what I am looking for: an environment that can test out shader and lighting effects based on shaders. I am especially interested in Ambient Occlusion and Indirect Lighting…thanks in advance.

testing out shaders should be no problem as long as they are written in CG-shaderlanguage =)
