How to create a sun corona and planet atmosphere refletion?

Hi i’m trying to modify the solar system demo to create a sun corona like this (the red rays around the sun):

planetpixelemporium.com/sun.html

And the atmosphere reflexion ring on Earth:

planetpixelemporium.com/earth.html

Any idea how this can be done?
