Getting Started Guide For The Absolute Beginner (UPDATED!)

OK,so after asking few question I understood that Panda3d was just what I was looking for.I got it,installed it,but didnt get any greeting window in the end? Why?Does that have anything to do with me having installed Python before?
PS.I think my PC has problems with OGL 2.0.I changed it to DirectX9 but the example programs still dont run.Comment?

Greeting was removed because it was lame…

Huh?I thought that enshured people that Panda works.
Anyway,I still have problems with my video drivers,Ill see what i can do…

Sorry for posting a disturbing reply, but both of your tutorials doesn’t seem to work on panda 1.5.2.

Really sorry, but could anyone provide me with an alternative way? Please. I have failed to use all other engines and editors, so I don’t want to give up Panda 1.5.2.

I already promised to my friends in fact.

What’s the error ? Have you read the troubleshooting section in the manual ?
What engines have you tried so far ?

If the problem lies with getting Panda to work in SPE (or getting SPE to work using the version of Python that comes with Panda), then take a look at my last post on the previous page of this thread.

Otherwise, indeed, what problems are you having, specifically? I used the first of the tutorials in this thread when I started with Panda, and that was done with 1.5.2.

Finally, note that the greeting program doesn’t seem to be included anymore, so just disregard that bit.

This has been unstickified. A more recent version can be found in the manual.
