from Blender3D to egg animations

Hello,

Please give me step-by-step instructions for exporting animations with bones from Blender to EGG.

  1. DirectX doesn’t work. X2EGG reports for error for .X files made by Blender. I tried DirectX, DirectX8 and DirectX8 mod 1.2.1.
    All of them created X files, but X2EGG reports syntax errors.

Unfortunately, nobody here knows how to use blender. I wouldn’t know how to make a cube, much less export it. But that doesn’t mean we can’t figure this out together.

The X-file export is our best bet for success, even if you did have some problems with it.

Go ahead and create a cube in blender, then export it using the X-file exporter. Then, post the X-file here. I can look at the X-file and see why panda3d isn’t accepting it.

Why Blender is so important…

Because it is Free tool with full set of 3D animation/editing with Python scripting.

Blender and Panda will allow to create freeware gamedeveloping process.
(Instead of using GMAX with strict license).

Sorry, pandaForumAdmin is me. Didn’t mean to come across as a smart ass. But it is true that there isn’t anybody in the office here who knows how to use blender. Meanwhile, konst has mailed me an X-file, I’m going to debug it from here.

've met the same error message when converting from X to .egg.
However this was only when converting with the following pipeline
3DSMAX=>>MS3D=>.X

And not for all my model. So i did’nt push furter but i can provide other X files with trigger the same error if it can help.

I am trying to export from Blender all chains of bones from one armature to DirectX format.

This is an original script from:

I add few lines to this file (from line 563). Let’s do the export for all chains of bones:

But there is a problem with FrameTransformMatrix in the exported .X file.
