Fixing the sound of the tutorial videos

There a bunch of great tutorial videos listed under documentations-videos on the homepage. Unfortunately, the sound quality on some of them are sub-par. I’ve found that it’s possible to boost the quality of the poor ones to a reasonable level by using Audacity (free sound editing software) and using a notch (FFT) filter to isolate the speaker. Apparently David’s voice has a nice peak at around 2-3Khz :stuck_out_tongue:

Great! Can you share the updated video files back with us?

Sure, I can do my best to de-noise them. Audacity only understand mp3s though so the process will unsynch the sound from the video. Where should I upload the denoised mp3s?

You could use mencoder or some similar tool to re-mux the video and audio streams.

Lol. Ok. I’ll give it a try when I have some break time this week.

If this could be done, I could finally start learning Python/Panda3D from those videos.
