DAMN YOU CAMERA THING

Well, this is more of an opinion thing, I just wanted to find out how you guys actually work your cameras…

'cuz at this point in time, my camera is quite… difficult to work with…

I have 2 methods which I have used at the moment (separately)

  1. Attaching a collision segment from the camera to the player, and alpha-ing anything in the way

  2. Attaching a pusher for the camera against the wall, so that it will slide against walls

The thing is… Well…

  1. As most would know, alpha is quite screwy… So it usually ends up with cases where the player becomes invisible, or some walls becoming invisible…

  2. The collision… Kills me. Sometimes going through walls at particular angles, other times going completely wonky for reasons I do not comprehend.

So… I’m just curious, how do you guys make your cameras without having those crazy camera glitches enough to make you throw your controller/mouse against the wall?

We don’t do 3rd person cameras because they are a pain?
