-a in egg overrides loading as model, not actor?

Hi- question. Hopefully I didn’t miss this answer somewhere previously in the forums:
We have a file that was exported from Maya to Egg with -a

We are loading it as a model via loader.loadModel.

Should be a model right?
However, we’re seeing with pstats that it’s being handled in animation- with skinning calculations like an actor.

Is this the expected behavior? Obviously we can reexport but I wonder if it should work that way?

Yep, that’s the way it works. The distinction between an animated model and a static model is made at conversion time, not at load time.

The Actor interface provides a convenient high-level interface that makes it easy to control an animated model, but it will still be an animated model whether you use the Actor interface or not.
